Hooray for I love tuesdays! I've been doing the "I love's" for awhile but it's usually on random days and not very consistant. So too keep this blog a rolling I love's are now dedicated to Tuesdays I hope you love to come to I love Tuesdays as much as I love writing about them.

1. I'm loving the help all over again, I read it last summer and am re-reading it again before the movie comes out. 2. Corn on the cob is so delicious we grilled it last week and that was even better. 3. Love on a plate. David made that for my LUNCH can you believe how amazing he is. Some girl at school called in Love on a plate and so it is. 4. Tomato plant that I received for mother's day from my ward, that is now on it's way out. But I love/loved it. 5. Love this braid CH tried on me. 6. Who doesn't love a good cat magazine.

Remember when I applied for Beacon (click beacon to view all the pictures) a couple of months ago? Well they announced the winner's last week and guess what.... I WON!!! They picked 100 winners and 100 honory mentions. I was chosen as an Honory Mention but I still get to go and be apart of it all in Vegas at the end of July. I couldn't believe I was chosen out of all the people who applied. I'm so excited and feel beyond blessed that I get to participate in such an amazing event!

Easter Sunday

Easter kind of sneaked up on us this year, I could never remember when it was coming. So we didn't do anything too festive. We (david) made a delicious meal, salmon, rice, and asparagus, and I put the frozen rolls in the oven. I did make some cinnamon bread that I failed to take pictures of before it was all eaten. After dinner we took a nap, then went to the park to play games, because it was actually nice enough to do so.

26th birthday

David's (actual) birthday (april 7th) was a very nice day! I took half the day off from school, and we headed down to the big city of Idaho Falls to grab some lunch and do some shopping. Cafe Rio was delicious, and their queso even better! After shopping we went home and watched some Glee on the netflix, then went for dessert at G's Dairy (davids favorite ice cream). We had planned to see a movie but the theater messed up the times so that didn't work out. Happy 26th Birthday David P!

I have no April Fool's joke's I thought about saying I was pregnant but that's just super awkward and I don't want to jinks myself.... so no prank's. But I love the beginning of the month, it's like a Monday, or a new Year. You get to start over and make everything better! I re-organized my binder for school, cleaned my kit out, and I washed my hair today. So far I'm off to a great start! This is an extra great month for starting over, because you usually spring clean this month right? Either way we will be doing that next week, and I'm so excited because I know there are some scary corners in our house. So I'm going to re start my New Year's Goal's. #1 being go to the gym, even though I ate DQ tonight. Like a burger, fries, soda, and ice cream. WOW!! So here's to April Fool's and starting over. We had to do David's birthday party early again this year. His birthday is right around conference and graduation, which makes it hard to have a party that people actually come to. So we did it early, 2 weeks early! We had a Smore's theme because David loves anything Smore's. Smore's ice cream, Smore's cookies, Smore's in general. But we didn't want it to be a campfire party, so we made it classier by having everyone come dressed in black and white.

Homemade pizza, the BFA show, and David makes for a wonderful date night. It's so hard to believe that David will be starting to work on his BFA show next semester and then after that we will be graduating and moving to New York.

Homemade Pizza
1. Roll out pizza dough
2. Cover dough in tomato sauce
3. Cover with cheese and tomato slices
4. Bake at 475 until cheese is melted then sprinkle Basil on top
5. When Dough is browned pizza is done.

It's easy and delicious.

Revamp

I really want to re-decorate my apartment. I've been wanting to paint the bedroom yellow, but I don't think our landloards would like that. So instead I bought yellow sheets, however I still want to paint. Plus we will be leaving soonish, is 9 months soon? Please say yes. I also want to throw out all of my old clothes and get new ones. Isn't David cute sleeping on the yellow sheets. F.Y.I cheap sheets are not soft sheets.

Way back in the summer time when we were doing all of our travels we started a search for the best Burger. We had burgers in New York, Austin, Seattle, Rexburg, and Idaho Falls. We picked a winner (thus far) for the best Burger and a winner for the best Burger Fry combo. We rated the burger's on a scale of 1-5.

5- WOW blew my socks off
4-Really good but not quite there
3-I like it. I would eat there again
2- If I needed to eat I would eat there
1-Don't waste your time

We rated the Presentation of the meal, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the burger it's self, and the fries.

We had dinner with Steven and Margeaux on Sunday one last time before they head off to Seattle for Steven's internship. We made yummy Italian Sandwhiches, which also involve absolutely no cooking so anyone could do it, even me. Awesome!

You will need:
Bakery Bread
Cheese
Turkey, Ham, Salomi
Tomato
Balsamic Vinaigrette
Salt & Pepper
Lettuce

That's what I put on mine you could definitely add more or take away. Put it all together, butter your bread, and toast on some kind of grill. Easy! Thanks Margeaux!

Burrito Bowls

I hate to cook. It frustrates me! However David loves to cook (lucky me). And as a result I only know how to cook a total of 4 things.

1.Enchiladas (my signature meal)
2.Homemade Pizza
3.Breakfast foods
4.Simple pasta meals.

So when I found this meal from the genius Sheena over at her blog, I freaked out because I love burrito bowls and have never thought to make these at home. It's so easy anyone can make these and the best part about it is.... I didn't have to "cook" Love it!!

Even though yesterday was gloomy and rainy here in Rexburg for the first day of spring, I'm still not giving up on my hopes for the sun to come out so I can pull out all my sandals and dresses. Coco healed from her surgery.

While I painted my nails an obnoxious color for winter. Bright pink. Costa Vida (the new Bajio) for dinner on Monday qualifying as FHE.

Finally did this style on my hair from this tutorial.

Made a Horkley's stop with our extra change. I rode the long board all the way there. Ate some delicious corn on the cob, can't wait to cook it on the grill.
Added color to this lovely lady. I also moved up to Creative, which is the second half of my schooling. Could not be more excited about that. A Blizzard after a long day.
and we end the week with Coco sleeping again. I'm excited for the weekend or my version of it. I plan on getting a lot of schoolwork done. I always say that but maybe since it's on the blog I will feel more obligated to get it done. Happy Saturday!

Yesterday at school I was helping a friend with a color appointment and the receptionist brought me a little white envelope that said Lets go out. On the inside was an invitation to dinner and movie from David P. How cool is that? Who does that? No one. I was so excited to go out, I couldn't stop smiling. I felt like he was asking me out for the first time again.

We went to Olive Garden and ate at the bar. We've had this inside joke for awhile about eating at the Olive Garden bar and it was so fun to finally go. Plus we had the most amazing waiter.

After dinner we went to see The Tourist I had been wanting to see it forever, and it did not disappoint it was so much better then I expected. Angelina's outfit's were amazing! I want to look that classy all the time. Then afterwords we went to say hello to some friends who were visiting from out of town. It was such a fun night. For me it's hard to feel like you go on real date's when your married like the one's you used to go on when you were single. But David did such a good job of making me feel like he was courting me again. The best date we've ever had. Love you David P.

The winter is hard for me. It's so gloomy outside and I feel like all I do is go to school and sit at home, it can get depressing fast. The weather has been a lot better this past week and on Monday I wore a dress with no jacket. Lovely. I was looking at pictures from our Summer, getting excited for Spring, and ran across these pictures I had completely forgotten about. During our ridiculously crazy travels last 7 week break I started collecting pictures of what I would see threw my windshield. I think they are beautiful even though they were taken on my iPhone. And that is probably not considered photography but I don't care. I love the way the sun is taking over these pictures and all the colors. I developed a deep love for the outdoors during my time here in Idaho, and even though I always talk about how much I hate this place. I am grateful for the chance I have had to discover the worlds beauty.

In other news Coco got spayed today and we are hanging out with her healing her poor little self. Happy Weekend!

Wigs and Fear Factor

I love going to hair school and am so glad I go to Paul Mitchell it's always so fun everyday, and if not there is some part of the day that makes me happy. Last week we had a class on wigs and then we did Fear Factor to raise money for our FUNraising season. The students could pay $5 to add in something to the blender to be mixed up for the Learning Leaders to drink. So gross but also kind of funny. The add in's including beets, pig skin, sardines, pickled pig's feet, and other nasty things no one should ever be able to buy at the store..love this girl.

Are you tired of all the Photo Shoots yet? A friend at school (Dustin Perry) colored my hair a couple weeks ago and his photographer friend (Josh Peterson) took some pictures for his portfolio. Since the insperation for my hair came from J. Crew I asked if we could take some jumping pics like in their catalog and I am in love with the first photo. I felt just like a J.Crew Model. I applied for Beacon last night. A nationwide competition put on for beauty school student's. We had to submit 3 photos, a resume, and a marketing piece which symbolized me and how I have become the person I am today. My theme or inspiration for Beacon came from the song "this little light of mine." My 3 models represent the light we each have inside of us.

A not so Valentine Valentines day

I had the flu or something like it on my all time favorite holiday. It didn't even feel like Valentine's day. David did a really good job though of making it the best he could with me being sick. I could barely sit up I was so achy. He brought me flowers in the afternoon, made me lunch, and helped me move from the bedroom to the living room. Then he made an extrodinary dinner and we watched the Cosby show and I went to bed way early. We are planning a Valentines day sometime in the summer to make up for it.

CAPER (again)

Earlier this month I went with my school to Vegas to attend Caper. It's a big hair show Paul Mitchell puts on for it's students. To go you had to sale 45 bags of product and only 30 people were allowed to go from each school. We got to meet with the most amazing stylist for Paul Mitchell, and take classes from them. It was an amazing experience. These pictures don't do it justice I took more video then pictures so I will have to make a video montage soon. I'm so grateful that I got to go. Thank you to everyone who bought bags and if you need more I have more!

A little In-N-Out with Carra.The next day they had a huge opening general session. Which included crazy hair, motivational speakers, teaching, and more crazy hair. This is us waiting in line to run and get a spot in the front in row. I mostly took videos of this so again video montage is needed.

Coco in the fridge

(this isn't the best picture but I'm surprised I even got one considering how frantic I was)

Coco loves to jump in the fridge, she does it almost every time I open it. I usually catch or stop her from doing it. But this one morning I was in a hurry and when I went to grab my water bottle before leaving I didn't see her jump in and I left for the day. This was at 9:15. I didn't come home until 6.

Usually when I get home she is right at the door, she obviously wasn't today. I thought maybe I locked her in the closet cause we shut the door so she won't play in there, she wasn't there but I could hear her crying then it hit me she was in the fridge! and to make it worse she had gotten into a jar of homemade syrup that didn't have a real lid. There was syrup and fur everywhere. Poor Coco kept trying to lick the syrup off but she was covered. After I gave her a bath and warmed her up we spent the next hour cleaning the fridge out.

While in the fridge she ate an entire bag of lunch meat and I'm assuming whatever syrup wasn't actually on her. I kept waiting for her to throw up but she never did. She was a real trooper through the whole thing and still loves me. I know this story makes me sound like a horrible owner and I probably am but I'm just so grateful she lived through 8 1/2 hours of fridge time. and the funny thing is she didn't learn her lesson she still jumps in the fridge

We got back from Vegas last night at 5 a.m. They let us have the day off today thank goodness I would have been a little zombie. Anyways caper was amazing I had so much fun. I can't wait to share all my wonderful experiences. But for now I need to shower and unpack and then me and David are having a date night. I can't wait. I also need to post pictures from the photoshoot, and how coco got locked in the fridge all day.

side note: my hair has somehow gotten way too short, I feel like I am not apart of the long hair club anymore. I don't know what happened and I'm kind of upset about it.

Please stop snowing snow!I love to watch you fall but hate to clean you off my car, and hate even more to have to wake up poor David to go clean the car for me. He likes his sleep. I keep telling myself it's our last winter here, but I don't know what good that is doing since we will be moving to New York right in the middle of next year's winter. So I might as well get use to it. Life is great not much going on. I am almost at 600 hours of school, I can't believe how quickly it has gone by. I'm still loving it, however some days are hard and I wonder what I have gotten myself into. David is in his 3rd to last semester. I can't believe that either. Coco is fully adjusted to life with me and David and has tried to get away with everything she can think of. Including jumping on the counters. Her favorite thing to do is sit in front of the heaters and sleep. Surprise. She is my little lap kitty, and I love it o so much! Lot's of pictures of me on our Sunday walk with my favorite toy. I need to get those pictures developed soon to share. Happy Winter everyone!

I successfully completed my first photo shoot as a future hairdresser last night. It was AMAZING, I had so much fun, and it went so well. The pictures are so good!! I can't wait to show them to everyone. Thanks to everyone who helped out, I couldn't have done it without you.

A Year in review

In January I started to work for Bajio again but this time in Idaho Falls, David started school again, and we learned that his graduation date would have to be pushed back a little. In February, we had a great time celebrating valentines day and I made lot's of valentines decorations.

In March we had a really fun painting date, celebrated the Oscars with Friends. David got into the BFA program, and I couldn't be more proud.

In April we went to Utah for Brittany's graduation from BYU. We celebrated David's 25th birthday, and I threw him a surprise party.

In May David surprised me with an amazing weekend to Salt Lake to go shopping. Bryan came to visit us for a weekend, and I went to Texas for my good friend's wedding.

In June I turned 22. We went camping. And we found out that poor David broke his ankle way back in April but luckily he was ok.

In July we swam at out favorite spot. Celebrated one of my favorite 4th of July's ever. Also celebrated our 2 year anniversary! I accomplished my first big hike to the most beautiful place on earth!and I graduated from BYU-Idaho with my associates degree!

In August David surprised me with a trip to New York. Then we attended Steven and Margeaux's wedding in Washington. Our tire blew out on the way to Seattle, and we had to buy all new tires. We spent time with David's family, went on the underground tour, and ate shrimp. In September we went to Texas for 2 weeks to visit my family. David had 4 cavities and we had to drive all the way to Waller, Texas to get them fixed. I made a big change and started at Paul Mitchell, David went to school for the first time in the fall, and we ate some yummy food including Taco Cabana 8 times.

In October we dressed like nerds for Halloween and Rexburg got it's first snow storm of the year.

In Novemeber we celebrated thanksgiving at our house just the two of us. We were able to spend some time with David's family in Idaho Falls.

In December we celebrated our 4th anniversary of when David proposed. We made sushi for the first time, Buddy cat had to be put to sleep, and we celebrated another Christmas together. Last but not least we added our little Coco to the family.

Wow! We did a lot! It's amazing how quickly another year has gone by. Goodbye 2010!

2011! I can't believe it's here! We had a really fun night celebrating with a small group of friends at our place. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the food until most of it was gone. Me and Dave attempted to make Homemade pizza dough again it it failed us! Luckily we were able to run to a local pizzeria and buy some dough for way cheap. So we've sworn off that recipe forever. I promise!

We played a lot of our belated Christmas Present the Wii.
That story to come later. and then challenged the boy's to Cranium and for the
first time ever I won my favorite game. Everyone really wanted to watch the ball drop, but we don't have cable. So we ran over to Mark and Ashley who live just across the street and watched it there.So much excitement I couldn't catch it.

Christmas day.

Christmas came and went way too fast. We woke up around 9 (not too early, not too late) and opened all our presents. I had the greatest present waiting for me by my stocking. A Christmas Kitty! and she looks just like splat. I wanted to name her Splat but since she is a girl I named her Coco. After presents we made a Breakfast Feast with cinnamon buns and crepes. Later that Afternoon we went to see Narnia. It was so good my favorite one out of the bunch. Then we came home and just lounged around. We made a little Christmas Ham for dinner then drove around to look at all the Christmas Lights. We finished the night off by watching meet me in St. Louis! and I did the same Christmas puzzle I did last year. I love the puzzles. It was a great Christmas we missed our families and hope to be able to spend next year with them. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve

We spent the afternoon in Idaho Falls stuffing ourselves with the most delicious burger's and onion rings in the world at the Snake Bite. Then spent sometime walking it off looking at the shops in the downtown. We later attempted to make homemade pizza and we are usually very good at it, but it wasn't working for us. The dough just wouldn't rise and I can't figure out why. Luckily Albertson's was open and we were able to grab a frozen cheese pizza, and we just added our own toppings. Pomegrante 7-UP is amazing you must try it!
We opened our Christmas Eve presents, David got me some J.Crew Pj's I have been wanting and I LOVE them! We read the Christmas Story, and watched Disney's A Christmas Carol and it was kind of scary.

On another note my Cat that I've had since I was little had to be put to sleep on Christmas Eve. It was sad but she was really sick, so it was for the better. I will miss her very much she was the greatest Cat there ever was and I can't wait to see her again. I love you Buddy Cat!

I really enjoyed our exremely fun date night to celebrate our 3rd anniversary of when you proposed. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard. I don't know how long we will continue to celebrate this probably forever. Is it weird that we celebrate this day everyear? I'm not sure, but this year was really fun. Thank you for taking me to the new Chinese restaurant in town. I loved it even if the rice was soggy. I especially loved DQ after. What says celebration more then DQ? Thank you for asking me to be your wife, I've loved every minute of it!

The day after Thanksgiving we met up with David's siblings to go shopping in Idaho Falls. I found a banana suite at DownEast that Ella so willingly tried on. It was great to see Brittany, Eric, and their babies! We hardly get to see them.

Pumpkin Tarts

These are delicious and so easy!

Basic Pie Crust (martha)
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons coarse salt
2 1/4 sticks cold unsalted butter (cut into 3/4 inch pieces)
7 tablespoons ice water, plus more if needed

1. Combine dry ingredients. Pulse flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor to combine

2. Cut in Butter. Add butter and pulse until coarse crumbs form, about 10 seconds.

3. Add water. Start with 7 tablespoons and add up to 2 if necessary. One at a time. Pulse until dough just holds together when pinched.

4. Shape and chill dough. Turn out dough onto a clean work surface. Knead once or twice to incorporate loose bits. Divide in half. Pat each half into a thick disk. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.

I made the filling from a Libby's can. I know that's lame but I'm not that good yet.

Roll out dough and cut into small circles. Form circles into a mini muffin tin and fill with Libby's Pumpkin filling. Bake for 20 minutes.

Whipped Cream
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon confectioners sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1. Whip ingredients together until soft peaks form.

We have a cool whip cream can that shoots co2 into the cream to make it fluffy but I'm pretty sure you could the same result by hand.

Top tarts with Whipped Cream and Cinnamon.

Sushi

I always thought I wouldn't like sushi however I was wrong. We made it with friends the other night and it was delicious. I loved it so much that we had it again later that week. We also played Harry Potter Clue and I wish I had taken some pictures. I can't wait for the second half of Harry Potter to come out, the first one was good and I know there is more coming but it left me feeling very unsatisfied.

I wanted to do something to count down to Christmas but didn't have time to think of a cute idea. So I stole this entire idea from this lady. If you don't read her blog you should she is very inspiring. Mine was 100% free. I looked up vintage Christmas wrap like she suggests. Sized them all to 5x5, printed, and cut out. Me and David thought of all the Christmas activities we wanted to do before Christmas, wrote them on little pieces of paper, scrambled them up, and put them in their individual envelopes. One for reach day. We open one every morning before leaving for school. It's perfect and it makes the living room look that much more festive. It's been so fun having a Christmas activity to do every night after a long day before school. And it makes it possible for us to do all the festivities we wanted to do.

Christmas time is here! I was going to wait until the 1st of December to put up the tree but it's been snowing all week it just feels like Christmas, so we decorated yesterday. I love having the tree up it's so beautiful. I use to pick out an ornament every when I was younger and meant to do it with David when we got married but just forgot. So this year we picked out our ornaments I love David's I would have never chosen that for him. I was actually shocked when he chose it.

Thanksgiving

This was our third Thanksgiving together as a married couple I can't believe it. We stayed in Rexburg and cooked a Thanksgiving meal for ourselves for the second time. We had breakfast with David's brother and his wife Margeaux. We went and saw HP 7 for the second time (much better round 2) then started cooking.

New York

We just can't get enough of the city. David recently returned to New York with the School last week. We paid very little for the trip and it was a huge blessing he got to go. Most the kids going are looking for Internships, but David went looking for a future a job. I am proud to say he did an amazing job. He printed 15 resumes to hand out and handed them all out but 1 in only 2 days. Intense! New York is more of a reality now. I would say we are about 98% positive we will be moving there for sure. This time next year I will be packing up this apartment and moving to the other side of the country. I can't wait. I hope this year goes by quickly!

Twizzle Berry which is just like pink berry or any other yogurt shop around, came to Rexburg awhile ago and we never went. But then we became obsessed and we got a punch card ( we love the punch cards have one for everywhere) except this punch was different the FREE punch didn't specifiy what size so we got as much as we could fit in a 20 oz. for FREE. I was laughing so hard on the way there and the whole time we filled up the cup. It was craziness how much twizzle we got!

Deep in the heart of Texas

This will be my last post to wrap up our crazy month of traveling. Then I can start updating on things that are going on in the here and now. So we went straight to Texas after Seattle and hung out with my family for two weeks. We got back in just enough time to get David to school the next day. We played a lot and ate a lot! David went to the dentist to get 4 cavities filled all in one day. We helped decorate my mom's house and celebrated my Dad's birthday.

The Underground Tour

David took me on the underground tour in Seattle. It was amazing, the city's history is actually pretty cool. If you don't know anything about it you should definitely look it up, it was very interesting.

In short the original Seattle streets were too low causing a serious sewage problem. One day there was a huge fire and they had to rebuild. They saw this as a great opportunity to fix the nasty sewage problem. The city started to rebuild the streets way above the original streets, however it was going to take awhile to rebuild the new streets. So the businesses decided remained open during the construction. So you had the new streets above being built and the original street's below where you also had the store fronts. So people would climb up and down to go in and out of stores. Which leaves us today with the underground.

Pike Place

Stevens Wedding

After arriving home from New York we left the next morning to drive to Spokane for Steven's wedding. Steven is David's little brother, but the funny thing is that me and Steven are only a week apart in age. So even though Steven feels younger then me he's not. It was a beautiful wedding and I'm grateful they let me take pictures along side their photographer. Love you guys!

Our last full day in New York was one of my favorites.

We went to Norma's for Breakfast.

Enjoying my way expensive french toast. Seriously the best I've ever had.
Don't worry I haven't stopped loving OJ it was just $8 for one glass.... yikes.
David got the Wazzle.
A waffle covered in a fruit puree then torched and covered in a sugary glaze and topped with more fruit. It was only 1 waffle but he couldn't finish.
The best part was the personal maple syrup.
It was an amazing place to eat breakfast our last day in the city, but really expensive.
We made ourselves feel better by saying we were going out to celebrate me receiving my associates, and I deserved it! Botany was NOT easy!

On the way out we stumbled on this. And I'm so glad we did. Because of this.

We did some last time shopping in the big city and then David had a big surprise for me!
We took the Subway over to Central Park and walked through what felt like the whole park.

Lombardi's Date

Yes we went to Lombardi's AGAIN! but how could we not go again it's too good. It was so hot this day I felt disgusting. So we went home showered and changed before going out to dinner. It was so much fun. I wasn't lugging around water bottles, shopping bags, and whatever else. We just walked around and enjoyed ourselves.

While at dinner we sat close to Jennifer Love Hewitt who I mistook for an annoying girl. Seriously she was picking at this guy's hair like a monkey. Then I realized who it was. I was embarrassed for her. She sat there for a long time picking hair and taking pictures. Weird. Good thing I don't like her anyways or I would have been seriously disappointed.

After dinner we stumbled upon Little Italy again. Funny how we are always finding ourselves in places without planning it. We got some Gelato at a cute little cafe. We had to eat outside because it cost more to sit inside. I love New York and it's separation of the rich and poor.

It was a really fun night, and it felt so good to be clean instead of gross and sticky.

Lincoln Center

So beautiful it get's it's own post. It's very peaceful at night and the fountain drowns out some of the city noise, so you could just sit and think. Maybe make some paintings/art/wahtever. You can also see the temple while sitting on the fountain. It is a very nice place to be at night.

A NYC Sunday

We thought about going to church this day, but then decided not to. Maybe I shouldn't be admitting that on here but o well.It didn't even feel like Sunday it was amazing. It always feel's like Sunday in Rexburg even if you skip out.

be prepared we ate a lot of food aka. pizza this day. don't be grossed out.

We unsucessfully found a chinese resturant called the Lunch Box (we found it the next day) but I'm so glad we didn't because we found the most amazing pizza place. I can't compare it to Lombardi's because they are two different kinds. But this place had my kind of pizza. I don't know how to explain how the kind of pizza I like is different maybe even almost better then the kind of good Lombardi's provides. Let's just say it was my favorite and I will go a lot when we live there. I can't remember the name but it was right next to the Empire State building.

For dinner we had.... Pizza. I know. We really love Pizza you have no idea. We went to Patsy's and then had planned to go to Serendipity after. Little did I know there was a Patsy's right down the street from serendipity, we walked forever from Patsy's to Serendipity only to have to wait another hour for a table. I should have known there was a Patsy's close by because me and my mom ate there when I went back in High School only we didn't know we were eating at (so i've heard) one of the best pizza places in the city. So we walked around trying to find another place to get dessert but couldn't, gave up, and went back to Serendipity. It was ridiculous! However we did end up meeting the guy from Will and grace. It was a silly night.

Another day in NYC

Saturday was our tourist day. We went to most of the big tourist spots.

Grand Central was beautiful we spent a good amount of time just standing around looking at the ceiling and people.

Then we went to the library. This was tricky to find because there are a lot of libraries in New York, but we found the one and only. Sadly the front of the building was being renovated I wanted to see the front in all it's glory. However the inside was still gorgeous. We weren't allowed to take pictures in the famous reading rooms but it was gorgeous however not as big as they make it look on TV.

We also went to Ground Zero, they have started building the memorial so there wasn't much to see of the actually sight but they did have a place for people to go to see a model of what the the new memorial and building would look like and a time line of what happened that day with peoples stories.

Of course there was a lot of shopping and a lot of walking.

I love this building.
I promise I am going to wrap up our New York trip this week. I need to. I can't remember what we did exactly each day. I guess that's not a big deal but I would like to be able to.

I'm really behind on updating our NYC trip. I will get on that. For now some pictures of the beautiful buildings. I love all the buildings in the city especially these hidden ones.

In other news David just got accepted to go to New York with the school in November. He will get to go to even more ad agencies and show his portfolio off. Sadly I can't go and trust me I am extremely jealous! But I am so proud of him and all the work he puts in!

Beauty school is great, we are doing perms this and hair styling. I'm excited to move on from the perms and learn how to style! I love it more each day the school is so much fun it doesn't even feel like I'm going to school. I LOVE IT! now a cheesy picture of me

This past week has flown by. Paul Mitchell is a lot of fun but it's also a lot of information in these first 6 weeks and I am very mentally tired at the end of the day. We are learning about color this week and it is confusing, interesting, exciting, and confusing. David is busy with school lot's of projects. I thought I would miss BYU-Idaho but I'm happy to say that I haven't and am glad to be where I am.

Day 3 started with David taking his portfolio around to get reviewed by a huge advertising agency. While David was busy being amazing I went and picked out some lipstick :)

The agency was conveniently next to my favorite building in New York, the Flat Iron building. (where I also bought my lipstick) so if he got a job there we could live next to or even better IN my favorite building. There is also a shack shake in the park next to the flat iron, a farmer's market, and then just to make sure I was completely in love with this neighborhood a Whole Foods also resides close by.

This was one of my favorite days in the city. We did a lot of wondering around just discovering little things about the city. We went to this amazing restaurant called Stand where they serve a pretty good burger for way cheap considering how nice it was. We found a vintage shop that was way over priced but helpful, and a finally got to go a lomo store where I almost bought a Diana.

The agency loved David, they gave him a lot of guidance as to what to do to become better and they really liked his stuff. It was kind of a relief to know that he could get a job here if he wanted.

Paul Mitchell

Today was my first day as a Future Professional
(as they call us) at the Paul Mitchell Hair Academy.

I've been thinking about this for a long time.
Over a year in fact.
In short I really feel like this is what I'm suppose to be doing at this time in my life.

So I applied for graduation received my Associates degree
and now am on way to becoming a Rock star Hairstylist.

I'm nervous, but excited, and can't wait to start learning!

NYC day 2

Day 2 was Hot & Humid the two things I hate the most.

but that was nothing compared to the subways. It only got worse under there. Even though I'm smiling I'm feeling pretty yuck. The subways were one of my favorite things about the city though even if they were a sauna.

We ate at the Starlight cafe for breakfast.
The food was pretty good, and you got a lot for very little.

There were also a lot of locals to watch. I liked when we found places where there weren't a lot of tourist, and just people doing their everyday thing. It felt like I was seeing the city as it really was instead of as a movie.
Since it was hot we decided today would be the perfect day
to spend at the MOMA inside out of the heat.

when you walked into the room it sounded like a bunch of people talking. But as you walked through the speakers you could hear individuals repeating the days of the week. My favorite was the wishing tree.
We walked around 5th avenue again to see the Plaza, and the famous Apple Store.

For dinner we had the best pizza we've ever tasted.

It was so good, and we are pizza lover's so we know what we are talking about.
So good in fact we went back again later in the week.

After a really long day of walking around in the heat we stumbled onto columbus circle and rested our feet and then ate some Pink berry.

New York City

As everyone already knows (because it's all we talk about) our biggest dream is to move New York City after school. Since our very first date we've been talking about how much we would love to live there someday and hope we can go visit before then. As this year's 7 week break approached we seriously talked about going, but in the end decided not to or so I thought.

David surprised me with the Greatest surprise he could ever surprise me with for our anniversary. A 7 day trip to the city of our dreams. New York City!

* a side note before I begin. I got the shake it app on my phone and took a lot of pictures of our trip with it because sometimes it was more convenient then pulling out the camera. The morning after we got back from New York my phone froze and I had to wipe my phone. So a lot of pictures were lost and somethings I talk about will not have pictures. but that's ok there are still a ton from my point and shoot, David's phone and the canon.

Shortly after our arrival, waiting outside the airport for a Taxi to take us into the city.

We were so excited to finally be in the city that right after we checked into the hotel we ran straight to the nearest subway and headed for Times Square. I have no idea why we chose to go here first it was so crowded and way overwhelming. However it worked out great because there were a lot of things we wanted to see in that area that we just stumbled upon walking around. Which was the story for most of our trip.

Like I wanted to go to Magnolia Bakery and there it was only a couple of blocks away. Even if you don't like cupcakes you should go and sit in the store it's very beautiful.

I can't remember the name of the cupcake we got but it was banana and chocolate and it was delicious. When we ordered the sales girl was like are you sure you only want one? It was good but I didn't think it was that good.

Then we just sat, caught our breath for a minute, figured out what to do next, watched the people, and talked about how much we loved it.
Right next to Magnolia was Radio City Music hall.
Then we stumbled onto the Rockefeller Plaza. Which happened to have the most amazing J. Crew right next door along with the most amazing Anthropologie.

This was really funny we somehow ended back up in Times Square. I don't know how but it was perfect because we were able to experience it at night which is way better then during the day.
After that we strolled around 5th avenue, did some shopping, and looked around this beautiful cathedral.

We were a little nervous we weren't going to like New York, but that was ridiculous and after our 1/2 day decided it was the perfect place for us to live.

We're Back

After a full month of traveling it feel's so good to be home. I had forgotten how beautiful my apartment was. I was so excited to see my bed so much that I did a screaming run and jump on to it.

A Brief run down of the past month

August 3rd- we drive down to Salt Lake visit our good friends and stay at their place.

August 4th- Leave for NYC too early that morning.

August 11th- Leave NYC

August 12th- Drive back to Rexburg

August 13th- Drive 8 hours to Spokane, WA for Steven and Margeaux's Wedding

August 15th- Drive what was suppose to be a 4 hour trip to Seattle took more like 9

August 22nd- Drive to Rexburg

August 24th- Drive back to Salt Lake and stay with friends

August 25th- Fly to Austin

September 8th- Fly back to Salt Lake and drive to Rexburg.

Needless to stay it was a crazy month and I have a lot to update. I don't think we were home for more then a day at a time, but it was totally worth it. It was great to see both of our families and I can't wait to share our New York trip!!

Side note: I'm very excited for the changing of seasons. Fall has become one of my favorite times of year and I'm glad it's here.

2 years

We celebrate 2 years of marriage on July 19th. It has gone by so fast which is so typical to say but it's true. I love being married and highly suggest it.

This lovely gem was waiting for me when I got home. It's so beautiful, I'm obsessed with it! I love my Husband's talent.

I made him a journal that he had been begging me to make since I started book arts. I don't have pictures of it right now and will have to post later.

We got all dressed up and David took me out for a night on the town.
We went to Johnny Carino's, where a friend asked us if our 1st or 2nd year was easier. I didn't even think about it until he asked and thought it was an interesting question, but we decided that our 2nd was easier.
After dinner David took me this pretty park sort of like a miniature botanical garden's
For dessert he made me strawberry shortcake with homemade whip cream. yum!
It was a great anniversary, I won't get too mooshy on here but I love being married to David he is perfect and we are perfect together.

Then just when I thought my life couldn't get any better.....he surprised me with a trip!

Shortly after me and David met 3 years ago we went with a group of his friends to a place called packsaddle a gorgeous lake nestled at the bottom of this mountain and surrounded by tree's its so beautiful. We've been meaning to go back but never got around to it. Mostly because you need a truck or some kind of SUV to get up the mountain. It's so gorgeous though we decided we needed to go even without an SUV and just hike up. However you then have to hike down to get to the lake so we had a lot of hiking ahead of us. and I have barely hiked R mountain a tiny little mountain outside of Rexburg.

The hike begins I thought at most it would take us an hour.

I was exhausted at this point and we were only half way.
2 hours later from when we started we got to this. Beautiful view of the Tetons.

All 3 hours were worth it for this.
Too bad it was super windy so we couldn't go swimming. But I'm glad it wasn't too Hot or else the hike would have been awful. We ate our snacks, and hung out for a bit. Hiking down was much faster, it only took us an hour.
Even the drive out to Packsaddle was beautiful.

Bar-b-que

For the actually 4th of July we had a small bar-b-que at Beaver dick with a few friends. It was great except for the wind, I should have expected the wind to come it always does in Idaho.

After the parade

There was a little festival at Porter Park after the parade. We went to see all the the vendor's which sadly was mostly just insurance companies. But we walked around for awhile, got some free cotton candy, sat on a bench like an old couple and got a little sunburned.

It always cool to see some of David's work up around town.
After the park we took a nap, ate some pizza, and then watched the fireworks with friend's.

Summer

Summer officially started for us today at 9 0'clock this morning. I finished my last test which was Botany, so glad that class and all classes are over. As soon as David is done with work which should be soon we are going to celebrate by going swimming.

America's Parade

I usually don't like the small town feel of Rexburg but This Day (july 3rd) I liked Rexburg.... a lot!

I liked waking up early with my husband to go save a spot with our camping chair's for the Parade that morning.
I liked sitting with friends from our ward.(sorry for the blur)
I liked chatting with new friends.
I like watching David act like a little kid to get some free chocolate milk.

I liked hanging out with new engaged friend's who we are excited to have as married friends at the end of July!

And of course I liked watching the parade.
we did more that day that I liked, to share later.

(I have an amazing Husband who always brings me breakfast to work.)

We've done so much and so much has happened since my birthday the idea of even trying to catch up makes me tired.

Right now I am sick with a cold/flu/whatever bla... I wake up feeling awful drag myself to school and sometimes not even all of school and then come home and drag myself to study and clean our house. Which these day's seems to always be a wreck.

However as I mentioned I do have an amazing Husband who did all the dishes last night, put a big dent in the laundry, and cleaned the kitchen. Then on top of that hes been making me dinner, surprised me with simple Orange OJ and Brownies, and watches Grey's Anatomy with me!

Birthday Series Part 3

After classes were finally over, we went to the ORC on campus and rented a tandem bike. Something we tried to do last summer but never got around to it.

We were on our way to Porter Park to chalk when I got the great Idea to go to Four Paw's! An animal shelter that mostly, and when I say mostly I mean only has Cat's. Dream come true for me!
The Cats love attention and love to swarm your lap if you sit down even for a minute. I think it's hilarious but some Cat's are determined to be held like this little girl. She would not leave David alone, jumped on his back whenever she got the chance.

After a visit to the kitties we went to the park to chalk. David's made me a chalk birthday card

The amazing man behind the b-day celebration madness.
We never get fast food (beside Taco Bell) but it was my Birthday and I wanted to splurge so I chose Sonic for dinner. The perfect place to go after a long summer's day. Two corn dog's, some tater tot's, and a limeade.
Yes I broke my Diet Coke fast. I went 2 months. But I think I deserve a little DC on my B-day.
My Beautiful Black & white birthday cake. We couldn't find the candles anywhere! So a tea candle had to do, but I loved it anyways! Perfect and simple just for me.
and then just when I thought all the surprises were over.
David gives me this.

The Love type monument he made for me awhile ago. But we didn't have a frame for it, and it wasn't printed the right way. So he re-printed it and found me a frame. The whole thing is made out of type using just the letter's L-O-V-E. It's amazing I will have to zoom in on it sometime.
I always suggest having a sleepover in the living room, but the boy in David doesn't like sleep over's and isn't excited about moving the mattress to the living room, naturally. But since it was the girl's birthday I got to move the mattress to the living room, have a sleep over, and watch a movie. The perfect ending to my day.

Birthday Series Part 2

Unfortunately I had to work from 8 to 12:30 that morning. But David showed up around 10 with a huge bouquet of flower's and balloon's that said Birthday Girl. I felt so special and loved! Especially because I know that David pick's out every one of my flower's in the bouquet's he buy's me instead of just getting something pre-made. It makes it extra special to me.

After work he took me on a picnic. We got some Taco Bell and hung out in the sun at porter park on my favorite pink blanket. It's hug! We will probably be able to fit our whole family on it one day. but I'm kind of selfish with my picnic blanket space so they will get their own.
My Birthday was one of the first beautiful and warm day's of the summer. David kept saying it was Heavenly Father's gift to me which is silly! But I couldn't argue it was so nice out.
Then I had some more classes to go. Which is a first. Having a summer birthday mean's you get to do whatever you want all day long...I wasn't use to this.

I took a lot of pictures of my Birthday and was trying to make them all fit in one post. It was just too much going on and too confusing. I was starting to cut out pictures, but pictures are way better then words so I'm going to break my Birthday down into 3 parts. Because I would much rather tell a story with pictures then without.

David woke me up at 6:00 a.m.
I walked into this beautifully decorated room.

and saw this elegant little package.
"Click Click Camera" kind of gave it away but I wasn't totally sure.
David is a trickster sometimes.
Once I saw the box I knew
and was really excited.
A new Lens! One I've been wanting for a long time!
I told him a couple months ago that I really wanted a sewing machine. I'm so glad he didn't get me a sewing machine. I wouldn't have even known where to begin. Even with my experience from Clothing Construction 1. and I couldn't carrier it around with me all day like I did this guy!
Then in perfect taste I was served Cinnamon Rolls and Simply Orange.

This post is way over due, but way back in May I went home for a friend's wedding. I have known Nichole since the 4th grade. We use to play walkie talkie hide and seek. We went to the same Dance studio when we were younger, were on Red Jackets together, went to Prom together our Sophmore year and our Senior year. I have so many memories with her it's crazy we are both older and married now. I went away for college and miss our friendship dearly. However it was so great to be there for her wedding, and to see some of my older friend's as well.

Camping 101

For part of my Birthday David took me camping. He planned the whole thing without me knowing, all I knew was that we were taking some kind of trip for my birthday and had forgotten that I said I wanted to go camping for my Birthday a few months back. However he eventually had to tell me what I was packing for and I figured it out. But it was still an amazing surprise.

We camped at Heise and it was absolutely beautiful. They have the most amazing camping spot's right next to the water. But we couldn't stay by the water because the river was rising too fast and we would have been floating down the river in the middle of the night so we opted for just a normal pretty camping spot.

We learned many thing's on this camping trip.

Camping 101: Blow up air mattress in tent instead of outside.
We're so hardcore with out air mattress. I don't even care if people think we are weird for bringing a million blankets, a mattress, and pillows. We were comfy! We bought the mattress about a month ago and I've been so excited to use it. Last year we got the tent this year the mattress. Slowly but surely we are building up our camping supplies.
After we set up our camp sight we went on a walk around the campgrounds.

Then we went into Disney mode and started singing Pochohantuas song's like
"just around the river bend."
and talking to Mother Willow.
but really it was absolutely beautiful. I'm so grateful summer has begun to bloom here in Idaho.
Fire 101: Don't put hands in the fire.

Cooking our Tin Foil Dinner's. A must when camping.
Then with nothing else to distract us we sat in our tent because it was a little windy/chilly out.
and attempted to play home, home on the range and other campy song's with our Harmonica we got on our last camping trip. Then it was time for sleep except the wind was crazy it kept waking me up. David thought the wind was going to blow over our tent.

I woke up around 3 and swore that there was someone walking around outside our tent. It scared me so bad. But it was just the crazy wind.
For Breakfast David packed Sausage (my aboslutely favorite breakfast food) &....
Shake and Pour Pancakes!!
Camping 102: Don't forget to bring a spatula so you can flip your breakfast.
Once again we are very Hardcore Camper's. We don't mess around.
The wind from the night before made it impossible to enjoy a good classic s'more. So we had them with our Breakfast.

We thought of more camping lesson's on our trip but I can't think of them at the moment. I love to camp and love it more when I go for my Birthday!

- Discovered I really hate cooking.
- Learned how to knit a scarve.
- Worked at Bajio again but in Idaho Falls.
- Bought my first Mac.
- Learned how to make books.
- Gained a stronger Testimony of my Heavenly Father's love for me and that he has a plan for me
- Truly honestly decided on what to do with school (more info. to come later)
- Got a job with the school.
- Decided pants aren't so bad but dresses are always better.
- Learned how to budget and save.
- Spent Christmas with the Palmer's
- Spent Thanksgiving with my family
- Attended a Beautiful wedding of an old friend.
- Made new friends.
- Started wearing lipstick.
- Planned a Surprise party.
- Was a Blonde and then went back to Brunette.
- Fell more in love my husband.

Secret Crush part 2

I met David 2 month's before we officially met, and I thought he was sooo cute. He doesn't remember this meeting because we didn't even talk. However I had a secret crush on him the whole time. I didn't even know his name (ok maybe I facebook stalked him and so I technically knew his name.) It was more of a joke crush cause I figured I would never see him again.

However 2 months later I did. I was visiting his ward one Sunday and as I walked into the chapel I saw him sitting in the stand. He was suppose to give a talk but they ran out of time and couldn't give it.I was a little excited but I once again figured I wouldn't never see him again. Plus what was I going to say even if I did run into him? Hi I met you two months ago and I think your cute?

Anyways I just so happened to be in his apartment that day and we got to talking I didn't think anything of it because it had been so long and I had almost forgot about him by this point.

but David is too clever for me and I didn't even notice he was interested and was totally shocked when he asked me out later that night. Now I was pretty excited!

We went out the next day and it was a perfect first date. I knew right away this was going to be different.

We hung out every day after that and when we weren't together we talked on the phone and texted.

Then a year later we were married.

As you know we are big celebrator's so the whole day was full of surprises.

I took David on a picnic that afternoon because the weather was absolutely beautiful but by the time we got to the park it started to rain. I was so sad because I had been waiting to use our cool picnic basket. We improvised and ate in the car. A musical picnicThat night David took me on a trip down memory lane. He rein acted a few of our memorably moment's in our 3 years together.

One of our first date's and the first time I took picture's of the both of us we took a trip to Idaho Falls to feed the duck's.
(David had us wear the same thing we wore on this trip 3 years ago, so if you ever compare these picture's. Yes we are wearing the same thing, yes we still have those clothe's. and I think that's awesome!)
This time we went to Nature Park in Rexburg.
After David proposed we went to Craigo's to celebrate.
(they have the best salds)
Camping was one of the first thing's we did all by ourselves after we were married
So we had smore's for dessert.

This so cliche to say but I am going to say it. I can't believe I have known David for 3 years it has gone by so fast it feel's just like yesterday we were still dating and running around in the summer sun. I love you David!

King of the Wild Frontier

Why is David riding the motor scooter in Wal-Mart? 2 months ago he broke his ankle and we didn't even know it. On his birthday(april 7th) he went to ride around with his new longboard and was going down a pretty big hill too fast he abondned his board so he woukd crasg but he had to stop his board somehow... yep he stopped it with his ankle. It was just sore no swelling so we didn't think anything of it. However a month later when his ankle still hurt I suggested he go to the doctor it might be broken. Then another month later he went running in non-running shoes and messed up the bottom of that same foot and couldn't walk. Then we had to go to the doctor and sure enough his ankle is broken. He has to wear a walking cast for 3 weeks and then it should be healed. Until then we are soaking up the excuse to use the motor scooter's.
